As we near closer to the end of semester 1 the less and less I can actually complete practically inside of college other than essays. Today we had the world skills live event on the board all day to watch the many activities that were going on that day. While this happened we then did some de-moulding of our silicone pieces, powering each step of the way before then doing a trial practice on ourselves. Unfortunately when working with such a small piece like a bullet entry wound I guess it’s quite hard to make it look detailed and complex when it quite simply is a quite neat entry however the photo below is an image of my application and colouring of my prosthetic piece.

From today’s session I feel that I wasn’t as productive as I could have been however I do think that as we end the semester with mainly written work and waiting for special effects products to set it is quite hard to feel like you’ve made progress at times. I do think that the work I did today was of good quality and that if I were to improve anything I would play around with blood a little more to give my bullet entry wound a little more realism and grit of the piece. Whether that means braving it and looking at real bullet wounds I don’t know however I shall definitely work on that. By this time next week I expect 85%-90% of my unit 25 project to be completed as well as 50% of my Unit 22 stage craft and then maybe even have completed and submitted my Unit 1 after discussing feedback with Karen.
